Dear Amy and Phil,
My wife just celebrated 1year cancer free. However our trip down Breast Cancer way is still fresh in our minds. Amy the most important thing that you can do is keep a positive frame of mind. Ask questions, there are no stupid questions, none!!!!!
Lean on Phil, do not hide your feelings, it will keep him involved. The husband often feels like a 5th Wheel, so take advantage, remember, he may be driving but you have the map!! My wife would be the first to tell you that while it ain’t no walk in the park, it is not as harsh as you may think!
Phil, man the best thing you can do is just be there, what Amy will need and desperately want is the reassurance of your support. Become the ultimate GOFOR, fetch and tote. Do whatever she wants whenever she wants you to. Phil, at the risk of beibg in mind my own business territory, I would not bring any third party caregiver, Amy really needs to feel your committment and belief in her recovery.
You are both in our thoughts and prayers.
Take Courage.

May 20th, 2009 at 9:58 pm
In October it is 14 years cancer free. Stage two, masectomy, chemo .. I did what the doctor recommended. Didn’t get caught up in a bunch of advise ie: shark carteledge, faith healers etc. Just asked my oncologist what he would want the person he loved most in the world to do if faced with my diagnoses, and he said exactly what I am telling you to do. The chemo was tough, but you don’t die from the chemo, just feel like you might. Looking back, the journey has given me lots of coping skills in which to face life’s challenges. Your life isn’t defined by the disease, it is what you do with your wonderful life that metters.
May 20th, 2009 at 9:58 pm
Phil,
My family will lift you, your wife, and children up in prayer daily. May God bless each and every one of you daily. HE will give all of you the strength that you need to fight this horrible disease. I know someone who beat this, so stay strong and fight hard.

The most important thing you can do is fine the best Oncologist you can, it will make a difference. Phil & Amy,
I was the primary care-giver and motivator for my wife during her battle with breast cancer in 1996 at the young age of 40. Today she is a vibrant and healthy 53 year old women. It was an amazing journey. We experienced many ups and downs but were blessed by countless opportunities and open doors that kept us encouraged.
I’m believing that you will emerge from this even stronger than ever as an individual and as a couple. I know you will be an inspiration to one another and to many people who will be encouraged by your strength.

Amy — I was very sad to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. I just celebrated my four-year anniversary of being cancer free. The cancer was not caught until it was a Stage 4 so surgery was done without question. I will tell you that my attitude and upbeat disposition were monumental in getting me through the surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. I trusted in God and knew that He would see me through and kept my faith and positive feelings throughout it all. I will keep you, Phil and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Take care and God Bless you all.

Dear Phil and Amy,
Please know that you have the love, support and prayers of the entire Jefferson family. She is a survivor and we know that Amy will beat it too.
We wish you all of the best for the future, The Jeffersons

Phil and Amy,
My beautiful wife, Judy, was diagnosed almost two years ago at age 40 and has gone through the roughest of the treatments. The strength and fortitude she has shown through it all has me simply in awe of her. Here we are almost two years later and she’s living, laughing, and loving. She’s now even taken up golf.
Our prayers are with the whole Mickelson family for strength and support.
May 20th, 2009 at 10:58 pm
Immediately leaving the Tour to be at Amy’s side was probably the fastest, easiest decision Phil’s made in years. A classy gentleman, devoted husband and father that knows his place is first with his family. Lead them in confident prayer, Phil. God bless you all.
May 20th, 2009 at 10:58 pm
I always root for Phil because my son is the spitting image of him, and it’s like rooting for a family member, I hope everything turn out well for him and his wife.
May 20th, 2009 at 11:00 pm
All I can say is this is another sad story of the MILLIONS dying of cancer. The medical field is curing nobody with chemo and radiation and then all the chemical pills. Please somebody tell Phil about THE GERSON THERAPY which actually CURES CANCER NATURALLY!!! If I were to be in that situation and look at the medical fields track record, I would definately be looking into alterantive measures.THE GERSON THERAPY REALLY WORKS but the gov’t would rather fill their pockets with the zillions in cancer money than actually help people. To them it is all about the mighty buck.Changing the bodies chemistry will beat cancer.Phil has to start his wife on juicing first, fruits and veggies and many times a day.I wish Phil and his wife all the best and please at least read the book THE GERSON THERAPY by Charlotte Gerson and Morton Walker D.P.M. and learn how to reverse cancer and many more degenerate diseases.
May 20th, 2009 at 11:01 pm
Phil,
I’ve been a long-time super-fan! God bless Amy, we’ll say a prayer! God bless you as well. Wish nothing but the best for both of you, god will watch over both of you. Hope and a positive attitude is huge at tis point, keep the faith!

Hey Phil and Amy,
I’m saddened to hear your situation. I’m glad you didn’t hesitate to drop golf to be with your family. That shows truly who you are as a person, father and husband. Amy, your angels will watch over you. My g/f has breast cancer and she is no less of a person now than before. This will challenge you and your family. But like all challenges, they are meant to make you stronger. I will follow and pray.
Thanks Phil, I admire you for the little things. giving a little child a golf ball to me is the coolest thing in the world. Simple, but it shows how you feel about your own kids. Just keep doing what your doing.

Please have Amy contact Dr. Robert O. Young at:
phmiracleliving.com. He is located in Valley Center, CA near where Phil and Amy live. May be able to avoid surgery if act quickly. I am in NO WAY associated with Dr. Young other than knowing about his practice as his approach to wellness.

Dear Amy and Phil, and Children
You have given me many hours of joy watching you play, and seeing you family’s joys and additions over these past 10 years or more. I can only hope that your determination to conquer adversity will apply to this battle over breast cancer. It can be won, and I hope and pray that you will master this great challenge.

You are my Favorite golfer on the tour and have been since you started. You show such grace of composure for 18 holes every time I watch you play. You set such a great example for all the young golfers to follow. Amy has brought so much to your life and happiness…I could never ask for a better wife for you. My prayers are with your family for a speedy recovery. My best wishes,

My dear Mickelson Family,
I quickly hit the button to see whom the reference was and cried out “oh not my boy” as I affectionately call Phil when hubby and I cheer on different players.
Amy, I am one who has also heard those words and it is NOT an easy valley to be heading into but you have great family support, unbelievable medical treatments and one of the most important aspects is there will be people ALL over the world praying for you and the family.
Give it ALL your best shot….some will suck….but keep your focus on the completion of the valley and through it you will become a stronger individual that you ever thought you could.
Our most sincere prayers will be for you and the family.

I can personally say “I know what you’re going through” my wife had breast cancer surgery on April 8th. It’s a shock to the system, but I commend you for being by her side. Right now, that is what she needs more than anything else.
I hope and pray that the cancer was caught early and she will make a complete recovery. Please take comfort in the well-wishes and prayers from people you know and many more you don’t know.
I for one am so very thankful for skilled surgeons, and the power of prayer.

My wife was diagnosed in September 2006 with stage four breast cancer. She is with me still today and is clear of cancer in her soft tissues. Thanks go to God and the Katzman Breast Cancer Center in my home town and a brilliant group of doctors, that communicated with each other daily about how to combat the cancer, (Surgeon, Oncologist, Radiation Oncologist) My advice for anyone is to do just as you have done, take the time for your wife, always be there for every appointment, therapy and test. Daily I remembered our marriage vows! Never think for a moment that you are bothering your close friends. They love you and want to be there for you. I will be forever indebted to our church friends that were there for the surgeries, provided transportation to dozens of treatments, delivered meals or just a gave us a gentle hug. I am not much of a golfer but I do pray. You can know that my wife and I will do just that. Thank you for the space to share. We love you.
May 20th, 2009 at 11:19 pm
Amy and Phil,
I understand the anxiety that follows a diagnosis like this, as my wife is a breast cancer survivor, 5+ years. In this difficult time find strength in your family, friends and doctors, they will be there for you every step of the way. Our family’s thoughts and prayers are with you and we wish Amy Godspeed in her recovery, as I know she will get the best treatment available. Amy will beat this and your life together becomes even more meaningful!

Amy and Phil: I am praying for you! You have chosen the right path — family is the most important moment in your life. Career is ashes if you don’t have your family. I am sure you have seen the poem: What Cancer Cannot Do: It cannot cripple love, It cannot shatter hope, It cannot corrode faith, It cannot destroy peace, It cannot kill friendship, It cannot suppress memories, It cannot silence courage, It cannot invade the soul, It cannot steal eternal life, It cannot conquer the spirit. Cancer is so limited…
My husband was the best medicine and support for me two years ago when breast cancer was discovered (Marcy 2007). I just celebrated 2 years survivor at the local American Cancer Society “Relay for Life”. Reach out to them for encouragement, support, information. You are not alone! I also claimed the verse mentioned in the comments above: Jeremiah 29:11 says,”For I know the plans I have for you…”

Phil and Amy, our thoughts and prayers are with you. My wife of 25 years was diagnosed with breast cancer on February 27th and after surgery and therapy, she was declared cancer free yesterday. It’s hard but stay positive sometime but stay strong and you will be fine Amy. God Bless.

Dear Phil and Amy……
You have Cancer….I heard these words last August and when I heard them I thought my life was over…I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer and with the help of some REALLY GREAT DOCTORS, Urologist and Radiation Oncologist at Duke University Hospital I had surgery and 32 Radiation treatments…For 32 days I was in the Company of some really Courageous Women in different stages of Breast Cancer. I know that they got great strength from Family and Friends and I,
as them, had a lot of Prayers to help me through this.
After the initail shock of the Words, you and Amy will realize that there are a huge number of folks, some you might know, but many unknown to you, that are praying for a full recovery and a Long and Happy life.
Being confident in your Doctors is very important and family support is essential. Phil, by putting your Career on hold, you have once again proven what is truly important to you.
I applaud this move and will keep Amy, you and your children in my Prayers….
Remember: If God brings you to it, God will bring you through it…
With all our Hopes and Prayers.

I was diagonised Dec. 12,2008 with breast cancer, was stunned. On March 13, had a lumpectectomy followed by twice a day radiation treatments for five days, my prognosis is very good. I am grateful for early detection(mamo). Today I sat with someone very dear to me as she received her last chemo treatment after a double mastectomy. She is so wonderful and positive, wants to be around to raise her four young children, she is also a physican, cancer does not not descriminate. You will be in my daily prayers, I will walk for you and me and my dear friend on June 13th here in Buffalo, N.Y.
There can be nothing more reassuring then to have your husband by your side! God speed, we are all with you.

HE Maketh No Mistake
My Father’s way may twist and turn
My heart may throb and ache,
But in my soul I’m glad to know,
He maketh no mistake.
My cherished plans may go astray,
My hopes may fade away,
But still I’ll trust my Lord to lead,
For He doth know the way.
Tho’ night be dark and it may seem
That day will never break,
I’ll pin my faith, my all, in Him,
He maketh no mistake.
There’s so much now I cannot see,
My eyesight far too dim,
But come what may,
I’ll simply trust and leave it all to Him.
For by and by the mist will lift,
And plain it all He’ll make,
Through all the way, tho’ dark to me,
He made not one mistake.

I was stunned to hear news on Amy.I’ve always admire Phil on his golfing. Its lovely to hear phil will be at Amy’s side and not to go on with golf.
Phil..You have lots of time in world to get back to golf.
I know the angels are looking over to you both and family.
May 21st, 2009 at 2:58 am
Phil and Amy,
Phil you are the most important part of Amy’s recovery through this illness. My wife was diagnosed 15 months ago and spent a year going through Chemo and Radiation to beat breast cancer. I was there with her every second and step of the way and she would tell you she couldn’t have done it without me. That might make me feel good, but more importantly my involvement made it bearable for her and also for me at the same time. I wouldn’t have considered it any other way and I pray every day for her continued recovery. Our wives and our families are the most important things a man can have and I’m certain you feel the same way. You both WILL get through this journey and be stronger better persons for it. I have always admired you as a golfer and humanitarian and now you have my admiration for doing the right thing as a man.
God Bless you Phil and Amy and your beautiful family. We will include you in our prayers for a full recovery.

I read the devastating newa about Amy today. As fate would have it, my daily devotion today was about “those being treated for cancer.” I would like to share it with you. Please read Psalm 103: 1-5 and Philippians 4: 6-7. God has blessed you much and will continue to do so.

May 21st, 2009 at 3:29 am
Amy and Phil, I am a long-time Phil Mickelson golf fan(mom born and raised in San Diego) and admirer of Amy and your girls. I personally am an 18-year breast cancer survivor (mastectomy and chemo). One of my first questions of the surgeon was — when would I be able to return to golf. I managed my chemo well (worked the whole time) and lifted up my wig to cool off when going downhill in the golf carts while playing. Stay positive and blessed by the love and caring of so many who will support you during your healing. Look forward to a cancer-free future! With pink prayers and hope ……..

Those of us who follow Phil and his life long partner Amy, as our favorites always hate to hear any bad news concerning either Phil’s golf game or with his family. I live in California and Phil has for years been my golf idol. Amy our prayers are with you. There are a lot of cancer survivors our there, and I know that you will go through this, just as you have all of the challenges that you have faced in your life, and that is with grace and dignity and with the ever present smile. Phil–to you the highest of praises, for doing what you should do and that is always, always, put family first. God speed and best wishes. Gary

Phil & Amy,
We have a few things in common. We both share the name Phil. We are both left handed. You play golf. I play at golf. But the thing we have most in common is that my wife was also just diagnosed with breast cancer. My wife is scheduled for a mastectomy followed by chemo. It is a horrible and scary thing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to both of you as well as your entire family. Stay positive and take it one step at a time.

Phil & Amy, Know that you are in my prayers. I am a 2 year survivor of breast cancer and know that it was my faith, my husband, my friends and all of their prayers combined that brought me through that walk. As a team captain in the American Cancer Relay for Life in my hometown, I actively try to support groups that help us with our care and give us the best chances to recover completely. I have purchased a luminaria in Amy’s honor for our walk in June and please know that many, many people are praying for your entire family as you go through this. You are loved and God will be holding you in his arms as you make this journey.

Hello to the Mickelson Family,
Sometimes change is sudden and catastrophic. Life as we know it, is abruptly overturned. Trust in the generosity of life. Choose to believe that there is good in adversity. Your optimism, while difficult to maintain at times, will be spiritually pragmatic. Most of all, be warmed by the truth that you are loved and protected even in the midst of this chaotic change.
May 21st, 2009 at 5:37 am
Amy, Phil & children,
We are saddened to hear of your news. You are in our daily thoughts and we pray for Gods healing and comfort to you all. Phil, we admire your decision that your wife, Amy, and children come first. You have welcomed America into your lives on the golf course by sharing your love of the game and showing us what a loving and supportive family you are. Phil, you make us ‘want’ to watch golf because your infectious smile and demeanor makes us happy. Amy, you are beautiful and your cheerfulness shows while you support Phil. Thank You for sharing your gorgeous children. Amy & Phil, you must feel the loads of hugs and support with you at this time. Please know our hearts are heavy; however, the love and dedication you have within your own family is evident and we believe you will be a survivor.
May 21st, 2009 at 5:37 am

PHIL, I`M SORRY TO HEAR THAT AMY HAS BREAST CANCER. PLEASE, WHATEVER YOU DO , DON`T LET HER TAKE CHEMOTHERAPY OR RADIATION !!! THESE TREATMENTS ARE VERY BAD AND HAVE A HORRIBLE TRACK RECORD. CHEMOTHERAPY ESPECIALLY IS VERY POISONOUS!! THER ARE ALTERNATIVE MEASURES THAT WORK MUCH BETTER AND ARE SUCCESSFUL. SUZANNE SOMMERS WENT THROUGH ALTERNATIVE TREATMENT AND IS DOING GREAT!! IN CANADA THER IS A TREATMENT CALLED 7-14 WHICH IS EXCELLENT , BUT IT IS NOT ALLOWED INTHE US BECAUSE THE DRUG COMPANYS CANT MAKE THERE BIG MONEY ON SOMETHING THAT POISONS YOUR BODY. PLEASE TAKE THIS EMAIL SERIOUSLY FOR THE SAKE OF AMY AND YOUR FAMILY. CHEMO IS POISON!!!!!

Phil-
People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within. E. Kubler-Ross
I am certain that you and your family will reveal your true beauty as you meet head-on with this challenge. I also hope that Amy and you can be inspired by the millions of persons who support you both every minute of every day as you battle this disease. If and when you need it, know that the support of the millions will be your source of light from within.
I hope Amy’s treatment goes well and that Amy will send you back to the Tour soon.

Would like you to call Dr. Erlinda (Marie) Gordon ,you will be able to find her phone # on this website Epeiusbiotech.com
This Co. has a product(Rexin-G) that might help your wife.It is currently in trials in the usa,but has been approved in the Phillipines. It could be a alternative to chemotherapy. Rexin G has had some positive results with certain types of cancer without the side affects of chemotherapy
They have a facility in Carlsbad. Give them a call they will be able to answer all and any questions you might have.

Dear Phil and Amy,
Just read the news this morning and my heart goes out to you and your family. Amy you are beautiful and we all love you.
Last year I had cancer and I have fully recovered. There is a lot to know aside from surgery and chemo. NATURAL TREATMENT, using diet, nutrition, restoring the immune system worked wonders for me. 3 ounces of wheat grass juice every day, no sugar and not foods that produce sugar, goats milk yogurt, flax seed, apple cider vinegar, no meat, fish or eggs… Read the recommendations from Johns Hopkins Hospital, they are great.
Our prayers are with you.
Love & blessings,
William

Amy - From all that I have read about you and seeing you on tv you are a very positive person with an upbeat attitude. That is so important and will carry you through in your road to recovery. As a 12 year survivor, I pray that early detection is on your side and you will soon have this behind you. As a mother, you are strong for your children and it is amazing how that strength carries you forward. God bless you on your journey.

Phil and Amy, You know that God’s Word tells us that where two or more are gathered, and we, along with many others, are gathering at this time in your lives to pray a hedge of protection around you. Remember to keep your chins up and your eyes will always be on God. We pray for strength and medical wisdom along with God’s grace to carry you both through this time in your lives.

Phil and Amy,
Just like we experience on the golf course, storms will come… and then the sunshine comes out. I have always admired your family values, Phil and especially now with you immediately withdrawning from events to support Amy. My son who is about your age, Phil has just received a one year remission report in battling Hodgkins Lymphoma. My 86 year old Mother has been in remission for 10+ years with Breast Cancer. Amy, Be confident and diligent in trusting God and that you are exactly where you are meant to be at this time in your life. You will see the rainbow following this storm. My love and prayers to each and everyone in your family.
May 21st, 2009 at 3:03 pm
Wishing you Amy, the very best and quickest recovery. Be positive and beat this thing.
May 21st, 2009 at 3:07 pm
Amy and Phil - When I heard the news, I had to reach out to you. I am 32 years old, come from a family of avid golfers (who all have the upmost respect for Phil on the course) and was diagnosed with Stage II invasive breast cancer in March. I know firsthand what you feel right now and I know how scary it is…but the one thing, Amy, you and I both have in common is a wonderful support system to include loving husbands who would give up anything to be with you and care for you during this journey. How truly blessed we are. I have had surgery, started my first of six rounds of chemo last week and will follow it with radiation. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. I know what a difficult time it is, but God will take care of you and your family. Stay positive, keep your spirits up and FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT! I believe you and I both will be stronger in the end for having gone through this - Ashley

I am a two-time breast cancer survivor, and want to encourage Amy! My first bout with it was inflamatory, which is considered more serious than regular breast cancer. My first diagnosis was 15 years ago, and I’m doing great!! I know she is strong and has lots of support, but I wanted to add my encouragement. She’ll be in my prayers.

May 21st, 2009 at 5:15 pm
Amy, Phil, and kids,
When I heard the news yesterday I just sat at my desk and cried, then I prayed for you and your family. I have so much respect for Phil and Amy and they way they have always handeled their very public lives. I was also reminded of the many families across the world who deal with this in total anonymity.
May God offer His healing touch on all who suffer from this disease, and may He allow us all to once again witness the smile that Amy always seems to wear. May God strengthen you Phil and those darling kids: Amanda, Sophia and Evan.

Amy and Phil,
Thoughts and prayers for you and the family. I had the pleasure of meeting Amy at the Kemper Open a few years back and she was very engaging in conversation. We talked about school and your children instead of golf. It was great and I wish her the best and hope for the Lord’s healing in her life. Rick

I will keep Amy and your family in my thoughts and prays. My 12 old nephew was diagnosis with bone Cancer back in September and I know first hand how hard this can be on everyone involved. In fact, on the weekend of May 30 The American Cancer Society is hosting and event at Poway Lake called the Relay for Life. This is a 24 hour event where volunteers walk to raise money, support Cancer survivors and remember loved ones. The walk is 24 hours long to show that Cancer never sleeps. I will be walking in support of my nephew and and our team, Team V23.
This also shows that Cancer can strike anyone, regardless of their age, who they are, what they do or their social status. Again, I am sorry to hear about Amy and will keep her and your family in my thought while I am walking during the Relay for Life event.

When i heard the news of Amy’s diagnosis, I was very upset. My whole family are huge fans of Yours. We love your family. We are hoping and praying for a complete recovery for Amy.Phil we are such big fans of yours that when you don’t win we get all mad and say things like”why did he hit that shot or why can’t he make those 6 footers”, well I am making a promise that when Amy recovers and you come back to the tour, I will never say anything negative again, I’ll always just be thankful for you being out there and that Amy is healthy. We are praying for you to have a full recovery and to get through this frightening time in your life. We went through it two years ago this month, and with God’s Grace and all our prayer partners I’m feeling fine.
Amy, let all those who surround you help you and just take care of yourself. It’s a very big bump in the road, but you can certainly get through it!! Phil will need to have comfort too, and needs to accept that from his friends.
Phil, my husband is a lefty too, and we enjoy watching you and look fwd to seeing you the next time you are out!!

Amy,you and your family will be in all our thoughts and prayers. There are no words that can describe how badly we feel about what you are going through. However, I do know that from what I have heard and read about Amy, she is a tough fighter and will get through this - to be cancer free. God works miracles.
Yes golf will miss you, but family is most important and you have made the rigth decision, no matter how long it takes.
Just know everyone is pulling for you and we believe - it will turn out well for you all.

Phil…. my wife got breast cancer in 1980 and vowed to live to bring up our two young children - which she did, passing away in 2002. The treatment today is much improved - less radical surgery, Herceptin, etc. It is a struggle, but if you both pull together and work at beating this disease then you can expect a long and rewarding life together - good luck.
May 21st, 2009 at 7:56 pm
Amy, nothing comes our way for no reason. I’ve been surrounded by family members with illnesses, including breast cancer among others. They all have gone on with their lives stronger than ever. We golfers tend to give tips all the time so here are mine.
1. Approach this with strength, courage and sense of humor.
2. Surely you have had a chance to let off steam about the news but do not waste more time on that. It is nobody’s fault. Go to tip no. 1. Ask for support when you need it. Nobody will let you down. Good luck with the battle and I will be waiting for obvious good news.
May 21st, 2009 at 7:59 pm
As a 9 year breast cancer survivor. I highly recommend surgery and reconstruction using your own tissue and chemo if needed. It was not easy but also not as bad as I feared at first. Trust in God and keep an upbeat attitude and you will do great!!
Many blessings from West Virginia

Phil and Amy, We have admired you guys for many years for the support you provide to one another in a world where celebrities have no clear boundaries from the public. It is our prayer that this time of your life only serves to bring you closer together and provide Amy with a platform to lead this country in the fight against this horrible disease. May God comfort you both during this time of uncertainty. The golf will always be there but these precious moments with your spouse and family are what matter most. God Bless you guys and the doctors who will provide care to Amy.

I will add your name to our church’s prayer list. Please know that my wife and I will be praying for you and your family. I was fortunate enough to get to spend 4 days at the Master’s this year. I read where Phil made a comment that Sunday at the Master’s was the most fun he had ever had in a tournament. There were thousands of fans who would agree. Get well soon, and know that thousands of people are praying for your complete and speedy recovery.

Phil & Amy-
I was diagnosed 2 1/2 years ago at age 34 with Stage III breast cancer. I underwent a bilateral masectomy, chemo and 28 radiation treatments. Our daughter were 3 and 5 years old. The news was devastating to me and my family. My husband was diagnosed with the genetic disease cystic fibrosis as an infant. He battles this dreadful disease day in and day out. Through it all he has taught me to never give up. I was back on the roads running 3 weeks after my masectomy. Every November I celebrate another year as a survivor by running the NYC Marathon. Stay strong. You can do it!
May 21st, 2009 at 8:37 pm
As a survivor of 8 years, I send one big message: Stay hopeful and keep your spirits high.
I would like to send you a BAG IT bag to help you through your treatment. You can check out our non-profit at http://www.bagit4u.org. We have helped over 15,000 cancer patients and their families in Arizona. Let me know if you would like one, Amy. It’s a great tool. Info for your family as well.
May 21st, 2009 at 8:46 pm
Phil & Amy,
My thoughts and prayers to you during this very difficult time. I was heartbroken when I heard the news. My Mom was diagnosed with Stage 3 ovarian cancer in 2002. Miraculously she is still with us today but the cancer was caught too late to guarantee a long life. But 7 years is still pretty good. As the sole provider for her, it has been a struggle for me and my wife/children. The reason for my Mom’s longevity after diagnosis is her attitude. Its just downright amazing how she keeps a great outlook on things even when things look grim. You can beat this thing!
God Bless,
Peter B

Phil,
may I suggest the best “All in 1″ multi vitamin mineral suppliment I have found. It will help build Amy’s immune system as she fights the cancer virus. It is called BIOVAXINE and is made in California.
I have no ties with this product other than I started using it about 6 weeks ago.
Finally I command all cancer cells to leave Amy’s body now in the name of Jesus.
May 21st, 2009 at 9:04 pm
I wish You both all the best and a quick recovery for Amy. God bless you and your family.
May 21st, 2009 at 9:06 pm
I have always been a big fan of the Mickelson’s, so when the news about Amy broke, my heart was devastated. I have gone through some health scares and anxiety issues relating to those scares, so I somewhat understand what the family must be going though right now. I just want Amy and Phil to know that I am praying for you everyday for healing, for comfort and strength to see this through, trusting that someday soon, God will handle the situation in an amazing way. I have seen some great things as a result of continual prayer. May God be with you!

The Mickelson’s
Since Phil’s early days at Arizona State, the 1999 defeat at the Open till now, I have been one of Phil’s greatest and most devoted fans. I have been fortunate enough to follow him live a few times as well, even here in Canada where he came to the Skins game back in 2000. Throughout this journey, up and down the rollercoaster life of professional golf, I have agonized and coveted all of the experiences he has had (like many other fans I am sure).
One of the first things that really got me hooked on being a phil-fanatic was the genuine approach he took with the fans. I witnessed more than once his willingness to sign EVERY last autograph, smile and shake hands, regardless of what had just transpired on the golf course. As Phil began to become more successful, his generosity became more publicly known and there are literally 1000’s of people who have benefited from it. Being ex military, I was especially proud to see Phil and Amy start “Birdies for the brave”, again a selfless act for others returning from duty in need.
Like everyone else out there, I was shocked to hear that Amy was diagnosed with cancer. Too often, most of us are unfortunately linked to this disease and can share stories to attest to that. Now, they must walk in unfamiliar territory and trust that their faith and belief will guide them.
Know that you are not alone and in the words of Dr King ” faith is taking the first step even when you dont see the whole staircase”.

Amy and Phil, Good doctors and each other is the sum total of what you need. I am a four year breast cancer survivor and my loving husband was my salvation for getting through the dark times…and there are those dark times. Try to alleviate the fear as much as possible and follow your doctors’ advice. The fear is overwhelming at times and never leaves you entirely, but you learn to live with it and enjoy every moment you are given….God bless all of you.

Phil and Amy
i am sorry to hear this news. i am 40 years old and live in Texas. My wife was diagnosed 4 weeks ago with Breast Cancer also. I would be happy to share and help in this journey if needed. If i can offer one bit of advice it would be people (friends, family) are going to offer to help in any way. Helping with kids, meals, everything you can think if. TAKE IT!! You will need the help!! I know you are strong, but you both will have good days and not so good days. The help is not only for you but for those people also. My wife and I would be happy to help in any way we can. One other thing that helped my kids so far is keep everything as normal as possible.

I am sitting here with tears running down my face, after reading about Amy’s diagnosis with breast cancer. I and my ladies golf league always host a huge Susan G. Komen “Rally for the Cure” event at Overland Park Golf Course in Denver, Col each July. I am chairman of our silent auction and have been working on this 2009 event since February. This cause is very close to my heart, and Phil is my favorite PGA player ever since he high five’d me at the International Tournament probably 10 years ago. I am heart broken that this beutiful family has to deal with breast cancer. My ladies club had donated just under $63,000 to Komen Foundation to help fight this disease, so families do not have to deal with this illness. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Mickelson family, and the ladies of Overland Park will dedicate this year’s event to Amy Mickelson and her speedy recovery. Bless the Mickelson Family!

Please, please contact Dr. John Link at Long Beach Memorial for your oncology. He is the BEST in the West and one of the top 3 in the nation. He has many patients from San Diego because of this. I am a 4 1/2 year survivor thanks to Dr. Link.
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I understand.

Phil, you have been my golf hero. It is good to know that family truly does come first with you. You and Amy are in my family’s prayers. Amy, please get well.

I have followed your career faithfully since your college days and have always been impressed by you — not just as a golfer but as a person of integrity. Your decision to suspend your season to be with your wife and family only serve to increase that admiration. May God be with you in the days, weeks and months ahead. You and your family are in my prayers.

Phil - I am a father of four with a loving wife, I have watched your career since you were an amateur, your dedication to golf and your family has been an inspiration to myself and many others. Amy and the girls will need you now - golf will miss you but your priorities are where they should be. I wish the best to all of you. I have never seen two people so supportive of each other. She has been there for you and I know you will be there for her. My family and I wish you only the best and may god give you the strength to be strong and positive at this time.

Phil and Amy, we are so saddened by the horrible news of Amy’s
disease. I know she has already gone through so much with the birth
of your last child, I can hardly believe this has happened.
We have been praying for you for almost a year now and at the
beginning of this year I just felt something was wrong that I didn’t
know about. Sometimes these things happen and I don’t know what they
mean, but not I know why I was praying so hard for you and we will
forever keep up our prayers and please keep positive, we know Amy
will overcome this.

Phil,
My husband and I are both golfers; and while my husband is playing golf, he is recording golf so he can enjoy watching golf at home. When we heard the news of Amy’s cancer, we were shocked … I could barely tell my husband the news through my tears and my husband exclaimed, “Oh, no. Phil’s my favorite golfer!” We have both admired your calm, skilled, enduring presence on the course and we are confident you will provide the heartfelt, loving support Amy will need and very much deserves. You are both to be admired in many ways and your positive outlooks will get you through this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your beautiful family.

Our hearts go out to you and your families. I myself have just been diagnosed with invasive breast cancer and had 2 operations and started my chemo today and my radiation starts next Wednesday. One of the best books to read is Breast Cancer for Dummies. It is very easy to read and gives straight informtion without going through unnecessary medical jargon. My husband and I are avid golfers and enjoy watching your play. Our very best wishes for an excellent recovery.

As an 11-year breast cancer survivor, I know exactly what this family is going through. I had a mastectomy and “tram flap” reconstructive surgery and am aware of the fear involved. I have been a Reach To Recovery volunteer through the American Cancer Society for the past eight years and talk to breast cancer patients on a regular basis. My thoughts and prayers are with Amy, Phil (one of my all time favorites)and their family at this most difficult time. Stay positives and know thousands of people are praying for all of you.

Phil and Amy -
I was so saddened to hear of the breast cancer. In such times, the Lord tells us in Isaiah 41:10….”(Phil an Amy)do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” and in verse 13…. He says, “For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”
I will be praying for God’s healing touch to be on you, Amy, and for His strength and wisdom to be with you, Phil, and the children as you go through the days ahead.

Phil and Amy,
I was just so upset when I heard about Amy’s diagnosis yesterday. I am completely saddened by this news. Phil has always been my most favourite golfer and I admire Amy for being such a wonderful person to the fans. You are both first class. I will pray every day for Amy’s full recovery and for the strength for Phil and the family to get through this.
May 22nd, 2009 at 5:41 am
Phil & Amy
I wish you both courage to endure your upcoming journey. I am so truly sorry Amy that you had to hear those horrible words, “you have cancer”. I was diagnosed myself 3 years ago and am in remission or “NED” no evidence of disease. This is what you will hear soon after whatever surgery and treatment is needed. It breaks my heart when any women is diagnosed. It truly effects your whole family. My husband still tells our story as “when WE had cancer. I know your journey well, it’s a tough one but will be doable. Stay positive and try to eliminate stress in your life. Good luck to you both….

Dear Phil and Amy:
My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Phil, you have been my hero since 1991, when as you first joined the Tour. While we have never met, I have fervently followed your career and been one on you most passionate and loyal supporters. I vividly remember Pinehurst 1999 and the anguish of Payne’s putt falling in on the 18th. Three years later, I would come to understand the emotion of having a child and how insignificant that putt really was! I followed ever shot on the back nine at August in 2004 and I was the happiest person around on that “magical” Easter Sunday!
You and Amy are winners! Not because you have three majors or 30 plus Tour victories, but because you are genuine, honest, and good people. You WILL beat this! You WILL overcome! Just know that there is no more powerful force than the thought of prayer and you have millions of people on your side!
God bless and my thoughts and prayers are with you all!

Phil and Amy,
Just want to wish both of you the very best in this very big fight you now face. It seems that you are dealing with the cancer in an aggressive manner which means that the results will be the very best you can wish for. Everything will turn out fine for two fine people. I hope all these notes give both of you a comforting and positive outlook so that this wicked disease can be defeated.
May 22nd, 2009 at 3:46 pm
Phil,
I have had the pleasure of walking the sidelines along with Amy during two of your victories, the Bob Hope and the PGA at Baltasrol. She was always pleasant to me (a total stranger) and it seemed to be genuine. I spoke with you briefly after round one of the Masters this year and told you to keep your head up. I again say “keep you head up”. I will pray for Amy’s recovery and hope all will go well.
May 22nd, 2009 at 5:18 pm
Good Morning from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada;
I have just finished the last stage of treatment of breast cancer (had my last radiation treatment last Friday, May 15th). I have had chemo, then a double mastectomy and then radiation. As a recent cancer survivor I would like to tell Amy to stay strong, have a positive attitude and smile and say hi to the person sitting beside you in the chemo suite (if you need to have chemo), it will make their day a little less frightening…trust me it works. This is a long haul but worth every tear and every why me moment you will come across.
Amy stay strong - together we all make a difference…
I designed a T-Shirt to raise funds for Breast Cancer Research at the Juravinski Cancer Centre’s BRIGHT RUN (my team Bonny’s Posse) here in Hamilton, Ontario. All the proceeds less the cost of shirts will go right back to the cancer centre. I believe it is part of the healing process, to give something back so I am going to send Amy a complementary T-shirt and hope one day to see her wearing it as she follows Phil down the fairway as she too will be a cancer SURVIVOR. I know she will wear it proudly just as I do.
I am an avid golfer and look forward to getting in at least one round this summer before the snow flies. Wish me luck…
All the best & HUGS AMY (T-shirt will be mailed to Fan Mail - ATTN: Amy @ Gaylord Sports - I hope she receives it)

God’s love and healing will grant you many blessings.
Know and believe that your life is precious and that

Dear Phil and Amy. Millions of golf fans and people from around the world are in your camp praying for Amy and the Mickelson family. Life’s journey brings triumph and tragedy to each of use and tests us in ways that are often difficult to comprehend. Amy’s journey has touched hearts across the globe. We hope the prayers and well wishes form those who admire and love you both will sustain your family during this difficult journey. You have given much to our sport and humanity and it is my sincere belief that the grace of God and the prayers of millions will restore Amy to good health and lift the heavy burden that you are shouldering.
May 22nd, 2009 at 6:24 pm
One of the reasons Phil has been a favorite of mine is his obvious and outward attention and devotion to his wife and children. It is always “Amy and I….” and that is impressive. One of my favorite memories is Phil’s win at the Masters when his little daughter came running onto the green! I wish more athletes would beahve the way Phil does - too many are prima donnas that can’t be bothered until they say it is okay to be approached! God bless the family and our prayers are with you all!
May 22nd, 2009 at 6:27 pm
Dear Amy, Phil and children,
Words are hard to express in a case like this but please know that you are in my prayers and millions of others, like me, who feel we are a part of your family because you have made us feel as though we know you personally.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time. I just took up golf two years ago to play with my husband, and I purchased US Open tickets for our 40th Anniversary. I was so looking forward to seeing Phil play in person for the first time, as he has always been my favorite player. I pray that we may see both of you at Bethpage….Phil winning with Amy and the children at his side. God bless you all, and love and prayers are being sent for a quick and complete recovery!

Phil & Amy,
God was with Amy & Evan when they experienced such difficulties at Evan’s birth and He will be at Amy’s side during this time of need.
Everything happens for a reason and , eventually, that reason will be made clear even with something as devastating as Amy’s current ordeal. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. God will give you the strength to face and overtake this cancer in the same strong yet compassionate manner you face everything else within your wonderful, loving family.
God love and bless you as the whole world does.
Respectfully,
Grandma Barb

May 22nd, 2009 at 7:04 pm
Dear Phil and Amy,
I have never posted on a board like this before and I wouldn’t be doing it now but for the fact that you, Phil, are my favorite player to watch. Perhaps it will offer you some small measure of comfort to know of others who have, certainly not by choice, traveled the same road you are on now, myself included. While unfamiliar to you, know that it has been well marked by the journey of others. Don’t allow yourselves to believe that the road leads nowhere. Support for you can be found with every step you take. Keep your hopes up and press on for yourselves and your kids. The best of luck to your family.

Dear Amy & Phil,
I hope you both know that so, so many people around you care so deeply for you both. Amy, you are a strong willed woman with a wonderful man at your side and I truly believe that with your strength of character and guidance that we all get from our loved ones, that you will beat this terrible thing.
Personally, several months ago started training for a local Avon Walk for Breast Cancer that will be going on in San Francisco in July, but now with your news, the event has taken on new meaning for me since I didn’t have someone close to me that has been affected by this disease. And even though you don’t know me, I feel that I know you. So please accept my well wishes, prayers and know that during the 2 day walk, I will have you & Phil in my mind, sending you both love and happiness that I hope that you will somehow be able to feel.
God bless you both!

Amy & Phil; My wife Kelly was diagnossed with breast cancer in January 2007, it was caught early enough and found it on one side, Kelly elected to have a double masectomy in March 2007. After 1 1/2 years of chemo and a month of radiation she has been healed! Yes, healed and we are Thankfull to God for that. Kelly was 39 when diagnossed, she is now going to be 41 June 5th!!
Kelly and I pray for you both, it seems that it touches more women than most know until your surrounded by it. We pray that you both have strength & Amy will be healed. Amy is a strong Women and she will indeed be challenged, but Amy will win!!!
Blessings to you both, we will continue to pray for both of you.

Amy — I was very sad to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. I am a 14 year survivour. My cancer was not caught until it was a Stage 4 so surgery was done without question. I will tell you that my attitude and upbeat disposition were monumental in getting me through the surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. It is most important to have a very positive attitude. Just look at your husband and children and repeat to yourself I am going to beat this. You sometimes get very sick from the chemo and you hurt but all you have to do is look at those lovely faces and you go on. I am only 56 and still fighting but I have 5 grandchildren ranging in age from 20 to 5 and they still need me so I will fight as long as I have to and that is what you have to do. Just take it day by day.I will be praying for you and your family everyday. God be with you.

Amy & Phil,
My Grandfather gave me a poem to help me deal with adversity when it visited. I’ve shared this poem with many people, friends and strangers alike, including my friend Senator John Kerry when he was diagnosed with cancer.
I hope this poem helps you as you successfully battle breast cancer:
BALLAD OF SIR ANDREW BARTON
“FIGHT ON MY LADS,
CRIED SIR ANDREW BARTON.
I AM WOUNDED, BUT I AM NOT SLAIN.
I SHALL LAY ME DOWM AND BLEED AWHILE,
AND RISE TO FIGHT AGAIN.”
God Bless,
Michael

Dear Amy, When I was your age, I had two mastectomies for breast cancer that had spread to many lymph nodes. I was not supposed to live but the Lord had other ideas. That was 27 years ago and I am cancer free. I learned many precious lessons through the experience. I wrote them in a small journal. If you would like, I’d be glad to share them with you. Just give me an address to send it to. (Or, I could even email it.) I promise it contains no advice. I just care about you and hope it will be a blessing.

Dear Amy and Phil, Just remember the arms of God are all encompassing and, when you feel the need, let yourselves rest there a while, before you get up and fight again. He will not ask anything of you that you cannot bear and does not want you to forget to ask Him for what you need - help and love to overcome this disease, and you will. I join with so many worldwide, who recognize your special qualities as a gifted and loving family and will continue to knock on His door with prayerful support. Many have reminded you to laugh when you can - and it is so true that it is the best medicine. I had been in a deep depression and got a standard poodle who lifted me out of the abyss. She has a terrific sense of humor and gives me a belly laugh most every day. She throws her head back and laughs along with me. If you would like I would lend her to you while you are in recovery - I mean it! So feel free to ask if you would like some additional love. (jocelyn718@verizon.net). Warmest wishes to you both, and of course to the children and all your family. Jocelyn, California

Some players come to play, you come to represent the Michelson thing!

Dear Amy and family,
My name is Andree Lloyd and I live in Hilton Head SC- I know you know where I’m speaking of! I am 44 and was diagnosed with Breast Cancer on March 9th. Since then I’ve had multiple decisions to make regarding surgery and adjuvent treatment. It helped me to speak with women who were relatively my age and going through the process.
As of now, I’ve had a bi-lateral mastectomy and my first chemo treatment was last Tuesday the 19th. I would be more than happy to talk with you as there are SO many things to consider and sometimes, it’s about you as a ” whole” woman, not just the cancer.
I am sure I’m about the thousanth woman to offer to help. You can reach me at Andree.Lloyd@regions.com.
May God Bless you and your family through this journey as he is ours,

Amy & Phil:
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your children.
Phil. You have showed the world what a great golfer you are and now you are showing the world what a great loving and supporting husband and man you are. Now that is CLASS.
Amy. My Aunt was diagnosed and had a double massectomy 2 years ago and is now doing great. She was alone except for a friend. She did not tell me as I was taking care of my Uncle (her brother) who had a triple by-pass at the same time. You are blessed with a loving and supporting husband by your side along with you children and all the fans of you and Phil. May the Lord be with you and your Guardian Angel on shoulder.
We have put you on our prayer train. We are all pulling for you.
May 25th, 2009 at 12:11 am
I wish you and Amy all the best, God is on your side as I am sure everyone who is putting you in their prayers have gotten his attention. My daughter, age 38 had breast cancer 5 years ago. She went to her oncologist a couple of weeks ago and was told the type of cancer she had was very aggressive and if it were to return it would have done so within five years. It did not return in the five years. She is considered cured. Many prayers were said for her. I will, in return, say a prayer for you. I pray that things will go well for you and your recovery will be smooth.

Phil and Amy, Phil has always been my favorite player on the tour since I first saw him at the Masters’ as an amateur. He is always a gentleman and a professional on the course, but most of all he is a family man. I just love to see him win, and see Amy and the kids with him. I look forward to seeing many more of these Sunday meetings on the winning hole. You are both very strong people, and with faith and optimism you will be able to overcome what lies ahead. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Stay strong.

I am deeply saddened to learn that Amy has breast cancer. There are a lot of good drugs available for breast cancer treatment. I have had breast cancer since Feb. 1999. It seems that each time I need a new drug it is available. So, Amy and Phil, keep praying and I will join you that all will be good.

Amy and Phil,
Don’t lose faith! My great-aunt (Connie Beth Thompson Titus) was diagnosed 10 years ago with a rare malignant strain and given six months to live. She’s still going strong and is cancer-free for the third time. She’s written a book, “Dancing at Daybreak,” and is a sure source of inspiration for anyone going through such a difficult time. I wish both of you and your family all the best and hope that God smiles on you in the years to come.

Dear Mickleson Family, As Amy begins her toughest tournament ever, I have just humbly asked in prayer that your family may all be at the 18th hole holding up the trophy that says “Cancer Free” and showing others it is possible to beat this wretched disease. May God bless you, and please use your celebrity to help those not receiving 800+ get-well wishes. Our prayers go out to your family.

by John R. Lee, M.D., David Zava, Ph.D. and Virginia Hopkins.
Warner Books 2002 (410 Pages)
Another pioneering book by John R. Lee, M.D. that really gets to the bottom of why women get breast cancer and how to prevent it. It covers a wide array of topics including how HRT may trigger breast cancer, why doctors use chemo and radiation even though they don’t work very well, what causes breast cancer, how to prevent it, and the remarkably preventive benefits of natural hormones– when used properly.

Phil & Amy, These blogs are amazing! Look at the outpouring of love and prayers coming your way! That isn’t because of Phil’s celebrity - this is because of the Christian examples of love, parenting and belief in Him that you both display. There is no doubt Amy can overcome this battle with the typical Mickelson tenacity. All my prayers to you! Tim - Uni Golf ‘85

Phil and Amy,
Our thoughts and prayers go out to you during this difficult time. I have had 2 good friends diagnosed with breast cancer and both have had successful outcomes. Johns Hopkins has a great team of doctors and they come highly recommended. I am sure you have the best doctors and will be well taken care of. Although I have met you and Phil I don’t know you personally I know you will be my 3rd friend with a successful outcome.

Dear Amy & Phil, Took up Golf in 98 when I was 37. Immediately started watching Phil, as I was a lefty golfer also. Having an unconvetional baseball grip & pretty fair distance, I tried lessons until they changed it to a weak grip which made me hit the ball like an old lady. After completing San Francisco International Airport in Dec 2000, we went through a RICO lawsuit and after I moved back to Massachusetts, ended up having to drive back for a dozen depositions.
So what does this have to do with golf? Well, the easy answer is on the way back from a depo, I went to my first ever pro tourney, to specifically follow Phil for a day of the best free lessons one could get. What started as my way to improve my game, intitially at the pro-am for the Western Open (Phil & Tiger were paired up) taunting each other (nicely I might add, calling the shots/pointing to where they’d land the ball from the traps and the rough) turned into my literally following Phil all 6-days from Tee to Green. Every shot, every hole. At the end of each day I was beat, because I was doing the Forrest Gump running 54 holes to their 18 to be on top of each and every shot Phil made. On the last day at the convergence of the 16th & 17th hole, I stopped and let Phil hit up and while he was walking up the fairway, me & some other clowns said hi to Amy and found her to be very gracious and nice; and if I remember was about ready for the 2nd baby. Phil had to wait to hit in to the 17th green for his second shot. He then began pointing my way and “sir, sir are you stalking me, with a big grin”. I nearly died, thinking I was being discreet. I said “no Phil, just a fellow lefty trying to improve his game by watching the best”.
The point I hope you see is that you reap what you sow. By that, I mean that you guys and your family are the consumate model of a great marriage, great parents and three wonderful children. Phil is a true gentlemen and Amy a true lady. Being older and not a cute little kid, it took me all six days, waiting patiently to get Greg Chalmers, Mike Weir and finally Phils autograph. Hard to trump the kids, but anyone who doesn’t think Phil won’t stay until the last persons hat or whatever is autographed, well…I know better. What I saw that week showed me that there are a lot of good folk out there who more than make up for the bad we all see every day. Plus, Amy & Phils actions spoke louder than words and made me a fan for life. Phil readily admitted that Tiger will always be no. 1 in terms of wins on Tour. Maybe so, however, Phil more than leads the way in all other categories of life and I am quite sure has taught Tiger, by example much, much more. Phils energy & personality obviously come from a loving, supportive wife and I’m guessing a very good cook. We all know Phils a big eater.
Whatever is coming in on the website in terms of prayer and support isn’t a tenth of one percent of the great number of people worldwide that the two of you have impacted, whether through a smile, a kind word or a speechless little kid getting an autograph - let alone the charity work you’ve both done. I know that this is and will be hard for each of you, but through faith and grace and steadful prayer, Amy will be healed and more good will come of it than can be seen at this time. The Lord works in mysterious ways as we’ve all heard, but he always has a purpose and an outcome in mind beforehand. Amy and Phil - everyone will miss you while your gone and being healed, but we know both of you will return. I started at about a 30 handicap and by watching Phil every chance I got and going to the range practicing the shots I saw him hit have got down to a 6 handicap. I can’t say more than has already been said in terms of the prayers offered, however until Amy is healed, I know Phil will not return, which is how it should be. Until then, instead of playing golf I too will stop and instead donate the greens fees I’d normally spend to the appropriate charities for research and hopefully someday prevention and cures for all woman.
Phil wil always go down as the greatest lefty of all time and the greatest short game player too. (ok - well Tiger putts a little better, maybe, but your short games far superior) Beyind that, Phils real legacy will be that of a good husband and father and most of that is due to Amy and he’d be the first one to say it! God bless you both.
May 26th, 2009 at 7:28 am
I just had one more thought.
If every Stogie Smoking Golfer gave up the cost of one of those Cigars for One Round per year, at $10 bucks a pop for a half decent one, the money donated would go a really long way towards both Prevention, Research and a Cure.
With 65 million or so Golfers worldwide, half or more who light up regularly while on a given course, please consider this very small donation for one round a year. Even if my estimates are way off, if only 5% of the Stogie Smoking Golfers donated the cost of one Cigar - think of the money which could be raised to benfit this worthy cause, not to mention the relief to your lungs and your fellow non-smoking Golfers.
Maybe one of the staffers who work this website could get this going in a more Public Forum on behalf of Amy & Phil.

Amy, Phil and family — Having my wife beat cancer 12 years ago at age 55, I know first hand what you are going through. Have faith and never, never underestimate the power of prayer nor the gift of a positive attitude. No matter how high the mountain may seem, the Lord will assist you in getting through this along with the current state of the art medical treatments. May God bless you as you continue to be in our prayers.
May 27th, 2009 at 3:55 am
Amy & Phil,
I have been thinking a lot about you both and the discomfort you both are experiencing these days. I wish (us) as a golfing community I could do more to help, but rest assured that you are in all our thoughts and prayers.
Bonnie & I have been married for 37 years (we were both 19) and have been blessed with three as well, 30, 32, 34 now. We’ve dodged much by way of health issues thus far, yet as our kids grow amazing things happen, good and not so good. The best comes after we look back to see how we responded to life’s challenges.
I can see via the media you both are caring and loving to all. You both are a beautiful example to us all!
Blessings, JohnyV

Amy & Phil,
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I can tell from watching you on the tour, reading articles about you in sports and newspaper magazines, that you have a loving and supportive family. It is this love and support that will help you get through this latest “test” in your life, along with your faith in God. I have a dear friend who always told me that life is a test. This is a test in your life, Amy, and I know you will get through this with your faith in God and the love of your family.
I had a “test” in my life in 1999 in which I died three times during emergency surgery. I had the love and support of my family and friends, and I made it through. I always wondered why I lived, and what God’s plans were for me. Today I know the reason God let me live…I am the primary care giver for my mother who has Alzheimer’s. He knew that my mom would need someone to care for her, and I believe that is one reason why he let me live. God has a plan for you too, Amy, and I believe that plan is to be there for Phil, your children, and your family in the future.
Phil, by suspending your play on the tour only goes to show that you know what is more important in life…Amy, your children, and your family. I will miss watching you play on the tour, but it is more important that you be there to support Amy through her illness. For this I admire you even more.
God Bless you both, and trust in the Lord that He will get you through this “test”.

Dear Amy and Phil,
Several years ago when Phil was playing at Wentworth, England I spoke to a young lady who was following the match. This lovely lady introduced herself as Amy (Phil’s fiancee at the time), and talked about Phil, their home and many other things. I was so impressed that Amy would be prepared to take time to talk to someone she did not know, that I have forever since been her admirer.
Amy should know that these acts of kindness that she has no doubt performed over the years has resulted in many many people supporting her through these troubled times. But I am sure that these acts will be repaid and Amy will come through stronger than ever. God bless you and your family.
May 27th, 2009 at 2:18 pm
Dear Amy and Phil,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. As a 6 year breast cancer survivor I feel that a positive attitude is 99% of getting well. I know that God will be with you throughout all of this and you will come out on the other side just as you are today. I know how scary it is when you are told that you have cancer, but I also know that God has plans for each of us and that you will be a much stronger person when you come through this. It is amazing how your perspective on life changes for the best. You are truly a wonderful young family with precious little girls and you are daily in my prayers. God speed.

Phil and Amy: I have been a fan forever and never missed your rounds when you played in New Orleans. I will always remember Amy following you around and engaging the fans around her. She didn’t have to do that but, to me that showed what a “beautiful” person she is. You have my prayers and thoughts. Great people “conquer” and I know Amy will survive this.

Hi Amy & Phil: First, my husband and I are fans of you Phil and your family. You are my favorite pro golfer. I have so much respect and admiration for you. I have a cancer survivor story for you. It is me. 29 yrs. ago (at the age of 32 and 2 young boys) the doc told me and my husband to get my house in order as I had a max 3 months to live. I had inflammatory breast cancer (worst and rarest kind). Needless to say, after a long hard battle (this was pre anti-nausea meds), I am still here. I feel God left me here to help others get through this battle. I volunteer at our local hospital and Cancer Services in our town of Midland, Michigan. I make heart shape comfort pillows for women who have mastectomies or lumpectomies. I have one I would like to send to Amy as soon as possible. This is a soft pillow with a strap that fits under the arm and strap over the shoulder. I have had so many women tell me what a comfort this pillow has been to them and how it relieves the pain. It also is great when riding in a car and it fits between the chest and the shoulder belt.
Please let me know where I can send it and I will get it out in the mail asap. You can send the information to my email address which you have been provided with. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
We will continue to pray for your family and especially for Amy for strength to get through this and Phil for strengh to be a patient, loving caregiver. God bless you.

Good luck Phil. A man of your courage and generosity doesn’t need to be told how precious family is, you’ve proven that through your actions. Best of luck to you and your wife and kids, you are winners and you will win this fight.

Dear Phil and Amy: My heart goes out to you both as a year and half ago I was in the same place. Hearing the words “you have breast cancer” changes your lives forever. I was in my early 40’s fit, active, and not expecting to ever get breast cancer. I have had 2 surgeries, and because we caught it early, I didn’t need any further treatment. Keep a positive attitude, and your love will help you through this. I will continue to pray for you. Just take one day at a time even though it’s an overwhelming, emotional thing to deal with. You will get through this together, and it will make you both even more thankful and closer than you can possibly imagine. I wish you a speedy recovery.

My wife and I send geetings from the UK, our thoughts and best wishes are with you all. Amy, we look forward to your complete and speedy recovery. God will look after you.

I am a breast cancer survivor and my family, God, and friends were the greatest healer I had. So I know that Amy will survive this too, because of her family and all the prayers being said around the world. Count me in on that as well. You will understand how many blessings surround this as you enter that long tunnel to the bright light that comes at the end of it. Very nerve wracking but I always knew that I would overcome and come out of it and I know that Amy you are as positive as I was. So keep that during this and always keep a pad and paper at your side to write down whatever questions you have. You will need it in the quiet and calm of home before you get to the doctors office, hospital, and all the hysteria of the public. I have been a mentor for friends that experienced what I did. Best wishes. God Bless and keep your faith in God and your husband. He is a super guy. BB

Phil,
My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer two weeks ago and we just schedule surgery and treatment. It was caught early so we are trying to stay positive and feel much better after talking with a very good surgeon and reviewing all options and recommendations. Our prayers will be with you too.

Amy, Although I do not know you I send my support. You see I have had chemotherapy since last October and just last Tuesday had a mastectomy and tram flap reconstruction… I still am very sore and healing from the surgery but each day is better… Radiation treatments are to follow… The family of women and the husbands who support us are amazing. I did not ask for this most devastating disease but we learn to trust that we can get through treatments and such with the help and support of friends and family. I send you my heart felt love and comfort that you will be able to weather this storm. I am here for you if ever and I mean ever need to talk. I have had some wonderful doctors and nurses that have taken care of me at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood Florida. Many women have reached out to me and it is now my turn to offer support to other women. I am not a celebrity like you rather a regular wife, mother, daughter, and sister… but I have a connection in the support of women who have walked this path. Sherry Churly (Miramar, Florida)

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Mickelson,
It is with sadness to hear about the situation of your wife.
My name is Jean Paul Bos, I am a Dutch citizen, and the CEO of a company based here in Singapore, in the business of medical travel and tourism.
On one of my many trips I heard about a treatment for breast cancer from a company based in China, with an serious track record of treating Chinese woman suffering from breast cancer. I have since spoken to these people in Chongqing on several occasions and I hope this might be a treatment that you might want to consult your oncologist on.
Please advise whether you would like me to send you information regarding this treatment, it is based on ultra sound technology, it is a non evasive treatment and apparently has a serious chance of success.
We have a reasonable library of articles on this treatment, with supporting documents from many reputable organizations, including hospitals in countries such as Germany, the UK, Japan, Korea and many others.
Please advise if you would like me to send you his information, I simple hope to be of assistance in the difficult times.
sincerely yours,
JP Bos

As one of your many fans, I was saddened to hear of Amy’s diagnosis. A good friend of mine has recently walked this same path and written a short, inspiring book about it which I’m sure would be a great encouragement to you. It’s called “Lessons from a Bald Chick” and can be found on Amazon (just search for “bald chick”), but I would be privileged to send you a copy if you wish. All I need is a mailing address.
May God grant you peace and comfort in this trying time through the prayers of all those who care for you.

Just wanted to let you know that my family has your family in our thoughts and prayers. Please remember that God is bigger than this disease and that He is still in the business of healing. I was diagnosed with cancer 11 years ago and I have been completely healed and restored to perfect health…Glory be to God. 1 Peter 2:24 tells us that “By His stripes we ARE healed” and I am believing this for you. I read the book…The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale and loved it. I also read The Word and looked up verses about healing to memorize. Music was major for me…praise music. I literally praised HIm through my storm.
I loved Hillsong. Keep your head up high and know that so many people are praying for you. I am just one Kindergarten teacher whose husband just happens to be a golf lover!
I am praying. Don’t look at the “C” word as a death sentence because it is NOT! I know that God has you in His hands and has an awesome plan for your life. You are in a position to be an awesome testimony to others. You’re going to do great!
1 Peter 2:24
Love, A family that believes in God’s healing power.
P.S. Another book that I loved was God’s Creative Healing Power by Charles Capps. It is filled with verses that speak healing over your body. I would read this aloud over my body everyday. I still read it some.

Phil & Amy,
My thoughts and prayers are with you all in this time of healing. I am a strong believer of St.Jude the patron saint, growing up in San Diego, attending St Jude Catholic school as a child and being named after St Jude I still pray to St. Jude for all my concerns. When my family has adversity we pray to St Jude, together we can overcome any and all obstacles. Amy and Phil you are in my prayers. My cousin just recently underwent chemo at Scripps for ovarian cancer and has had her final treatment. Our Family understands.. Phil I know you will do extremely well at the St. Jude Classic. I’ll be watching! Amy, keep the faith and look outside the box to a path you never knew would exist…

My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 44. Back then the only treatment was a radical mastectomy. She died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 84. She was a 40 year survivor of the dark ages of cancer treatment. The doctors and tratments are so much better today. You can get trough this. Put your faith in God and he will guide the doctors. MAy God bless you both.

Dear Amy, Phil & Family,
I too received this shocking news with young children to care for. By the grace of God, I am a 14 1/2 year survivor and feel tremendous today. The support of my husband got me through my ordeal.
While he and I talked our way through my illness and recouperation from surgeries, we planned that as a family we would all learn to play golf when I felt up to it. And four out of five of us play regularly and I vow to get back to it and work at it.
Phil has been my favorite player for all these years and on a recent anniversary, my husband gave me a treasured gift…an autographed photo of Phil for my office. (I refer to my husband, also Phil, as my Phil without a green jacket. He takes it very well!)
Know that many people are holding you in the palm of their hands and in their hearts.
God bless you all, Amy & Phil.

I respect you both with your commitment to each other and your children. I am a breast cancer survivor of 10+ years. I had a masectomy, chemo and radiation. I was much older than Amy but life was just as precious-grown children and grandchildren just beginning to arrive. I called everyone I knew who would pray for me and asked God’s blessing over the treatment and those caring for me. Have a positive attitute and live each day to the fullest. Be at peace as this is where you are supposed to be at this time. God bless you. You are a wonderful example of success and priorities. Sharron B

Hi Phil and Amy,
Phil, I have been following your career from the beginning and have always admired your stong code of ethics and your ‘humanity’ and ‘humility’. You are obviously a great golfer but what make you great in my mind is the person you are. My heart goes out to you and Amy and your darling children…I know you will handle this challenge just as you have handled all others…WITH CLASS!!

Phil,
I want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you, Amy and your family. When my Dad was diagnosed with cancer I remember bursting into tears many times during my own private moments. I got thru it, both you and Amy will get thru it. I have a very good friend who was diagnosed over twenty years ago with lung cancer and he is doing great. Keep the faith, keep the spirit. You will win the battle.

To Mr and Mrs Mickelson,
My name is Shin and I am master of Ki-energy therapy which utilize the natural universal energy called Ki to heal almost any illnesses including cancer. Please give the following adivices to Mr and Mrs Mickelson before surgery.
1) check if she has heavy metals including mercury in her body
2) check thrasic spine between 3 to 5 if that area is twisted or bent to one side
3) check if under arm lympha node is tight and/or enlarged
4) check if she has been exposed heavily to electromagnetic fields such as microwave oven, TV, computers, cell phone, etc.
One or more of the above usually be the main reasons why she developed breast cancer, and if it is so it can be healed without surgery .
Sincerely,
Master Shin

We love that Phil knows his priorities. I left a job of 20 years to care for my husband as he healed and it was the best thing I ever did - for him AND for me. Know you are receiving the prayers of many - ours included. It is true that God gives us only what we can handle. Remember - we never know how much that is - keep the faith.

Amy and Phil, Our prayers and good wishes are with you during this time of healing. Phil keep the faith and all will turn out.

It is very good they caught the cancer in early stages my best wishes go out to the Mickelson’s. I first met them when I was a standard bear at the Las Vegas Invitational I think it was either 98 or 99, I skipped school on a Thursday and had the honor to cart Phil’s Grandfather around the course for 18 holes and was able to chat with Phil and Amy along the way. Amy never forgot my face every time they came into play. I have been a fan of them ever since. They are great testament to not only golf but what they do for charitable organizations.

My wife was recently diagosed with breast cancer and i have had
luekemia and carsunoma cancer. We Have found a sysytem that complely
has us so far completely cured my wifes brast cacer. She had A l
lumpectoy and because of this system the doctor could not find any
remaining cancer. This is not a FDA apptoved system probably because
it would put onocoligist out of business. All though they could apply this system themselves. All I can tell you is it worked forus. We pray it could wotk for Amy. On the web look up Royal Rife
and uoyou will get the history of this system. Meanwhile,we will be praying for Amy in hopes she will be cured God bless you both

Phil and Amy: As a breast cancer survivor of 3 1/2 years, I do know what the two of you are going through. I did not get this diagnosis alone. My husband was on a work trip to Dallas when I had to call him from Louisville, KY to break the news to him. He was on the next flight home and I was in the surgeons office the next day talking about the “next” steps. Support is the most important part of this diagnosis! Phil and Amy, you are going through the toughest part right now, the not knowing exactly what to expect, is the worst. I was fortunate enough to of caught it early also, had a lumpectomy, along with 37 rounds of radiation. Every time I hear someone is diagnosed with breast cancer, it hits me terribly hard. You two have brought so much enjoyment through the game of golf, and being in Louisville for two PGA’s and the Ryder Cup, which I was lucky to be a part of all, my thoughts and prayers are with your entire family. Amy, we are in a sisterhood that we never wanted to be a part of, but I am here for you if there is anything at all that I can do.

Phil & Amy,
I have not been able to stop thinking about you and your family.

Dear Amy,
I am the same age as you, I also have small kids like you have, and a lovely husband. Two and a half years ago I had a mastectomy & reconstruction due to breast cancer, and last week I went under surgery due to recurrence on the same reconstructed breast. As I was browsing through the internet in my hospital room, I read about you.
It’s God’s will for us to be healed, it’s written in His word “the Bible” and His word is truth! When I was diagnosed 2 and a half years ago, I did not have the same faith that I’ve now. Although I recently had a recurrence, it doesn’t stop me from believing on His word, because is by faith that we believe, and through His strength that we can stand, and walk in peace knowing that He has already won the battle!
Please check Keith Moore website at http://www.moorelife.org click on free downloads, scroll down to ” God’s Will to Heal ” I’m not afraid, I have the Healer on my side, and He has given wisdom to my wonderful doctors, therefore I choose to live and not to die, and I’ll declare the works of the Lord! Psalms 118:17
Amy we all can pray and agree with you for your healing, but is your faith in God’s word that will keep you strong! God’s name is bigger than any other name, sickness and disease, and it is His
Will for you to be healed!
Mickelson family be of good courage!
Love you… Vivi & family

Thoughts and prayers to the Mickelson family…
June 18th, 2009 at 8:24 am
Dear Mrs Mickelson, I am 61 and have had breast cancer at age 39 and metastatic breast cancer at the age of 56. I want to give you hope and support in what I know is a very difficult time. There is every reason to believe that you will survive this disease. Trust your doctors and know that thousands and thousands of your sisters are praying for your recovery.
June 18th, 2009 at 1:58 pm
dear Amy & Phil,
As a radiologist , who has had recently the devastating experience of diagnosing breast cancer with my own spouse, I wish both of you you lots of strenght in the coming months.
Don’t put too much pressure on yourself for winning this tournament.
I’m sure , in Amy’s eyes , you have already earned the “silver trophy” , just by teeing off in the given circonstances.
I’m confident she will bring home the “Major” next year and beat this cancer because she has the ultimate weapon : “the strenght of a woman.”
June 18th, 2009 at 4:51 pm
You are such a wonderful example for couples who are facing financial, health, and the myriad challenges of today’s world. I will be rooting for you and your family. Positive visualization, meditation, can be very helpful.

Phil and Amy:
My wife had (stage 4) a form of ovarian cancer in July 0f 2005 and with agressively treating it with chemo and not missing an appointment she has been in remission ever since. What really helped her was a GREAT POSITIVE ATTITUDE and PRAYER from all her friends as well as family. Prayer is at least 50% or higher of recovery. We will pray for recovery because God must have more things for her in life just like my wife.
God Bless
Ken

Just a word to encourage you during this difficult time. In 2005, I lost my mother after a long illness, and in the next five months lost four other close supportive family members. Then one year from my mom’s death, my husband decided to abandon us (we have two children) only three months before I was diagnosed with Stage Two Breast Cancer. I was alone and sick and scared. The three of us:
me, a daughter 14, and a son 11, went down this path, that even now brings tears to my eyes to repeat, and I can tell you one thing with more certainty than I ever understood before: God is a Restorer. During my mastectomies, friends and aquantancies came from out of the woodwork to help us. Through the chemo, I stayed unbelievably healthy, with no real side effects. Through months of restoration, God kept us safe as we traveled the 60 miles sometimes daily. He kept our spirits high as my body began to return to normal. The compassion my children and I have others going through similar circumstances will be with us the rest of our lives.
Today, three years later, I wish you could always remember: God is a restorer. We have the most blessed lives that I could even ask for, and we take nothing for granted. Always remember: God is a restorer. Soon you will understand that they aren’t just words. They will become your comfort, your safety net, and your healing.
Of course, we will be praying for you.
June 19th, 2009 at 6:59 pm
My husband is watching golf on TV right now and noticed that Phil had a pink ribbon on his hat. I have been a fan of Phil’s for quite sometime now and I have also undergone treatments for breast cancer in 2006 and since then in 2008 was diagnosed with recurring cancer and I have been blessed with with pretty good health at this time and I am under going treatments again and enjoying ever day that God gives me. Please try to maintain a positive out look and lean on your family and friends and I know that you will get trhough this
God Bless you and you family as you start your journey and each treatment that you under go will make the light brighter at the end of the tunnel.
Your family is in my prayers

Phil and Amy, you’re in our thoughts and our prayers.

Amy,
You can do it girl. Keep your loved ones close by supporting you and try to remain positive. I had a metastatic melanoma removed 2 years ago and though the there were some worrying moments I got through it all with the support of my family and a great clinical team within the NHS in the UK.
Phil,
You are one of the best, do the best you can together and I am sure you will beat it - and try to keep smiling.

Dear Amy and Phil,
As a breast cancer survivor for three years now, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. I was Stage 1 but had a lot of pre-cancer cells, so I had a mastectomy based on the advice of my doctors. I don’t regret it. Build a great team to heal you, stay positive and keep laughing while you ride this emotional rollercoaster. You can get through this and survive - stay strong and be tough while fighting this disease! Take advantage of the resources out there — books, online, organizations, etc. — to help you make the best decisions for your recovery. And, most importantly, I know Phil and the rest of your family will give you the love and support that you need, Amy, to heal.
Best -
Tracy

Dear Phil & Amy and Family,
I am a one year breast cancer survivor who lost her Mom to breast cancer. First thing, cancer stinks! But there is so much more that we know now than just just ten years ago. I am turning fifty this summer and fully intend to see my grandchildren. You are in my thoughts and in my prayers. Get yourself some girlfriends who have “been there, done that” who you can talk to 24/7, it really helps. The doctors are miracle workers but we’re the ones in the trenches. Let me tell you something, you’ve been through the worst, a doctor has looked you in the eye and said “you have cancer”. Now go get your army together and beat this. And hey, if you feel like screaming to a total stranger who completely understands, drop me an e-mail.
God Bless,

Dear Amy,
I am a nine year survivor of breast cancer. I was diagnosed at the age of 43 with very aggresive breast cancer that had spread to the lymph nodes. I have been through a mastectomy, radiation, and autologous stem-cell transplant at Duke University and I am currently healthy. Cancer treatment can be tough but just keep your eyes on the good things in your life, like your husband and family, and fight like crazy for them. Listen to your doctors and pray for a good recovery. I am praying for you and your family, because this disease can be tough on the entire family. God will get you through.
Be strong, have a positvie attitude (which is very important to your recovery) and God Bless.
June 21st, 2009 at 10:14 pm
Dear Amy and Phil,
I have been going through treatment for cancer and although it can be tough, you can do it. Keep praying and have faith that everything will be ok and you will do fine. You have each other to lean on for help and support and all your friends. Good Luck to you.
June 22nd, 2009 at 3:03 am
Hi Phil, My wife ,Jan, was diagnosed with cancer about the same time as Amy. we have been doing radiation and chemo treatments trying to stop this thing. I’m sure you are up against the same and I know its no fun. Jan is a lefty golfer like you and was cheering for you on every shot in the open today. Good luck tomorrow, keep your mind on the game, Amy will be alright, I know it. My mother had breast cancer wnen I was 3 years old. She died when I was 42 of something else. The whole world is pulling for you.
June 22nd, 2009 at 3:24 am
Dear Phil and Amy:
You are a dear and loving couple that lights up our world!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
My husband and I went through cancer together and it made us closer and even more in love.
Please take advantage of every technique, visualization, cancer-counseling that you can. We investigated alternative treatments as well as traditional and chose to do both. A big help to us was the Wellness Community in Santa Monica. (They have branches) They are a wonderful community of cancer survivors.
You are both wonderful examples to all of us!

Dear Phil, Amy and family,
I was just recently diagnosed with breast cancer, have small children, am 38yrs. and it was a total shock. But with the help of close friends, family and a wonderful husband, I am beating it.
Just remember to take everyday as it comes and think positive. Being positive will help in your family recover. I have said and really believe God gives us what we can handle and he protects us through it.

Amy and Phil
I am a five year survivor - my daughter and I designed these hysterically funny tee shirts to help raise money for breast cancer research, treatment and prevention - front has 50 nicknames for breasts - back says “No matter what you call them, it is still Breast Cancer - let’s find a cure” - we find that irreverence and laughter takes some of the sting out of the diagnosis and treatment - that part is only temporary - your life will be enriched by the people you meet, the courage you see, and the friends who care - even if they don’t know you personally. I volunteer at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL - where I had my surgeries and chemo and radiation - I work in the Infusion Center - medical personnel in Oncology are incredible people - but I know what it is like to sit in the chair and be the patient taking the chemo - I have helped a lot of people in this situation because I’ve been there, done that. Good luck in your treatment.

A win at the USGA will be a great boost for both you and Amy. God bless all your family. If Amy can stay as positive as you do on the golf course she will beat this thing hands down….
June 22nd, 2009 at 6:23 pm
Amy and Phil,
I suspect you feel like you’re on a runaway roller-coaster about now. Be kind to yourselves. You are in my prayers. May God Bless You and Keep You Safe and Strong.

Amy if you are not sure about chemo just read a book about the BREAST STAYS PUT from a PAM HOEPPNER how my wife help her with her cancer
June 22nd, 2009 at 9:58 pm
Amy & Phil.
Phil. You gave the US open your best. I am 52 years old & can not remember a more down to earth pro as yourself. Your fans remind me of Arnie’s Army & Lee’s fleas. You are a great person, player & diplomat of the game. I (a guy) broke into a tear watching you slap hands with fans as well as signing caps for the gallery(especially the kids). Clearly you know how to balance your efforts to the game. I can not imagne how tough it must be coming in a runner up so many times. I bid commercial construction work for a living so I know how frustrating it can be being a bridesmaid. Keep that proud chin up. You go boy!
Amy, rest assured your husband is a great person and I am confident you will beat this. I can not think of a single soul who’s life has not been touched by that horrible disease. You will beat this. Summon your strength & your husband’s support, strength & love and your love for your girls & family & YOU CAN DO IT. YOU go girl.
Godspeed to your fine family.
A devote fan.
June 22nd, 2009 at 10:22 pm
Phil and Amy,
My prayers are with you and your family as you begin treatment for the Breast cancer. The support that the fans showed Phil at BethPage Does not even begin to compare to the support that golf fans, cancer survivers and people touched by cancer have for your family during the coming months. You will beat this and will show the importance of early detection.
Good luck to all the family
June 22nd, 2009 at 10:45 pm

Phil, Amy, and family,
I am a cancer survivor as of March 31, 09,(Duke Medical). Our God’s healing power and the love of Jesus Christ, through himself and many people praying for me, made the difference for me and my family. I will pray for healing, comfort, and most of all strength for Amy and your family. Lov ya!

Phil,
As much as you have been my favorite PGA player for many years I have always respected you more for being the family man that you are by putting your family ahead of all else.
To Phil, Amy and family our thoughts and prayers are with you and we pray for a speedy recovery. May God bless you all.

Phil & Amy,
My wife was just diagnosed with breast cancer in April. The week of her 34th birthday. We also have 3 young children. She has began her treatments. She had surgery on May 22nd & is recovering well thanks to faith and countless prayers. Nothing in the world can ever prepare you for this diagnosis. A true punch to the gut! I thank you for being open about this issue. I also have found myself driving down the road crying, fighting to hold in the tears as I tuck my children in the bed at night, & just trying to be strong for my wife. Cancer Sucks!!! The feeling of being helpless sucks worse. I want to just take it all away, but I can’t.
We wish Amy, the kid’s, & you all the best. Our prayers are with you and yours.
Amy, FIGHT LIKE A GIRL!!!!!
God Bless,
Jason

Phil, I have been a fan of yours since forever! You are the consummate gentleman and family man–a rare combination these days! My prayers go out to your wife, to you, and to your family during the coming days. Brighter days are ahead for all of you–keep the faith.

Phil and Amy, look out for each other. My wife and I have been through this, you will get through it without a doubt. Modern medicine is fabulous. Don’t quit believing and don’t let the thoughts eat you up. It will get better and make you stronger, I promise.
June 25th, 2009 at 2:34 am
Phil, good luck to your wife and best wishes for your family. I’ve always respected the way you keep your family life and professional life in the right perspective and I’m sure that will continue through this difficult time. I got a chance to see you play recently at the US Open and it was a great experience. Thanks for the excitement you bring to the sport and good luck.
June 25th, 2009 at 3:03 pm
Amy and Phil, all the best with the treathments. The Dutch fans will support you both!
June 26th, 2009 at 8:07 am
My wifes and my prayers are with you. A note to think on is that cancer and desiese can NOT live in a High Alkaline state. Much of what we drink and eat causes our bodies to build an acidic state. I am with a team of people that educate people on how to change our PH levels and change our health. If you are interested I would love to share more. I your service. Larry
June 26th, 2009 at 8:14 pm
I don’t know if my lengthy comment made it or not. If not then you have our best. It was too long and too difficult having lost my wife over 10 years ago. Keep up the good fight
June 27th, 2009 at 1:03 am
Wishing you & yours a positive outcome from over the big pond in London. The British golf fans will miss you playing at our open this year but, i know we all look forward to seeing you & all the family at St.Andrews in 2010.
June 29th, 2009 at 8:42 pm
Dear Amy and Phil, You and your family have been in my thoughts and prayers since we all heard. I was also diagnosed with breast cancer in May, down right scary, but workable! I have had the lumpectomy and lymph node biopsy and it has gone well, now radiation. I’d really like to recommend a book that can kind of cheer you up and inform you; crazy sexy cancer tips by kris carr, foreward by Sheryl Crow.
Keep smiling and feel the love!

Dear Phil and Amy, I have enjoyed your golf playing for many years and it has given me a lot of pleasure. I always pull for you in all the tournaments. I am 93 years old now and I used to play golf when I was young and enjoyed it so much, so I enjoy listening and watching now. I am completely blind in one eye and nearly blind in the other eye, but I always watch and listen to tournaments and love the excitement. I was so sorry to hear about your sweet wife Amy’s diagnosis with breast cancer. Nine years ago, I had breast cancer myself. I took chemo and recovered completely and never even lost my hair. Tell Amy to keep up with her daily activites and keep her faith in God and always think positive. We will be praying for you both and your beautiful children. Best wishes for a complete recovery. July 5, 2009 Dear Phil; Just want to let you know that your my hero. I appreciate your carrying on in the “Arnold Palmer Tradition”. You don’t know me but we made eye contact once when you were hitting out of the rough on the 6th hole of the 2006 Phoenix Open. (I was wearing a “Beat the Pro” ball cap.) Keep up the good work and watch those short putts. And Amy, I think you are a truly lovely lady. I was sorry to learn of your diagnosis. Cancer is a beastly disease but it can be beaten. I know that Phil and your beautiful children will be right there with you and that all your families and friends will give you the love and support to help you in this struggle. My wife and I pray that our Heavenly Father will bless you with the courage and strength needed and that He will bless the doctors and other health care professionals to use their knowledge and expeirience in your treatment and care. Our prayers are with you and yours.
July 7th, 2009 at 4:04 pm
I was shocked when I heard the news about your wife and now your mother as well! Both very important women in your life going through some serious times. I wish both them strength, comfort and encouragement! My thoughts are with them as a woman and as a medical professional. My first thought that maybe Amy had somehow encouraged the mother to be checked and I hope this holds true for any female. Get a mammorgram. They are so easy, non-invasive and a bit uncomfortable, but think of the alternative!Good luck to you ladies and to Phil. Remember the strongest strength is in your soul.
July 7th, 2009 at 4:05 pm
silly typo: mammogram sorry
July 7th, 2009 at 4:44 pm
First of all my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. We do not know each other and probably never will. However I do know what you are going through now and are going to go through later on. I am 60 years old and my wife is 58. Linda was diagnosed in Feb. of this year with Breast Cancer. Surgery in April and started her first of 6 Chemo sessions on May 22. If I can offer any advise it would be to attend all the sessions that explain what is going to happen. While they will prepare you to some degree it really hits home when you start seeing it personally. Accept all the support of family and friends. Above all, and I mean this with all my heart, maintain a sense of humour. As difficult as it will be some days trust me a sense of humour will make a world of difference. (PS: a little prayer probably won’t hurt either)
Good luck and we’ll see you next year on the tour.

Amy and Phil,
Know that both of you and your family are in our prayers. I have Prostate Cancer since September 2002. My PSA was 1000 and 70% of my bones had cancer . Four days later , GOD decided to give me a healing and my PSA went from 1000 to 24. PTL Two and a half years ago the cancer was trying to come back. In January 2009 ,I started Chemo, my PSA was 1975 and again the Doctors did not give me much hope to live. I almost died in May-PSA was 3600,getting blood transfusions every 3-4 weeks-THEN GOD GAVE me a SECOND MIRACLE !!!!!
My blood counts are almost back to normal and my PSA for the first time in 2 years dropped from 3600 to 450 !!!! Please know that OUR GOD can HEAL and if you need any encouragement during this time, please e-mail me at jhopkinsltc@juno.com
May GOD BLESS YOU AND AMY

Dear Phil
I’ve learn that your wife Amy got breast cancer. I’m from a far away country, Thailand. I wish that you or your wife will read this message. I pray to god that you going to believe me and follow my advice. It’s not concern that anyone could make any money from this. It is Amy’s successful cancer treatment.
My girlfriend was diagsosed to have stage IIa breast cancer. The mammogram revealed that she had 3.5 cm tumor. We were lucky on that day. One of the doctor secretly recommended us to see Dr.Sommai Thongprasert. Dr.Sommai now 88 year-old. He spent all his life to find a curative for cancer. He has a potent herbal medication.
My girlfriend’s case, the tumor shrinked from 3.5 cm to 1 cm just about 19 days. She’s now still on this medication.
I don’t know how to make you believe, but this is for real result and will save your wife and your carrier.
I’m not too good in English, please forgive me. YOu can call me anytime. My hand phone is on 24hrs/7days. See my real photo on my website http://www.marigoldthai.com

Amy my thoughts and prays for your total recovery. Over the years, As a Cancer Exercise Specialist, and Advanced Pilates Instructor,
I have worked with hundreds of courageous breast cancer survivors to provide restorative full range of motion movements adaptive/Restorative Pilates- stretching, strengthening and flexibility and diaphragm breathing exercises.
Hundreds of fragile, weak cancer survivors have blossomed though rejuvenated and physically confident individuals. I wanted to write to you to encourage you to: Tack Back Your Physical Power…One Muscle at a time.
It has been an amazing journey, to watch participants take back their physical power…and develop strong functionally fit bodies, and uplifted spirits. Participants have learned to integrate the body awareness moves to perform everyday functional fit activities- standing, walking, picking up items from the floor, driving their cars -using the navel to spine concept to help build a stronger core and physical foundation.
I created a successful Restorative Movement Program for the Lance Armstrong” Triumph Fitness Program for Cancer Survivors in Stanislaus County for Memorial Medical Center Cancer Survivors.
The Program has been so successful- I have written a Book: StarrPower Restorative Pilates for Cancer Survivors.
I have also included a special section about Lymphedema.
Please let me know if you would you would like for me to send you a book. Starr Carson Cleary

Dear Phil Mickelson, Amy & Mother,
Your prayers have been answered. There is a natural supplement that I have with me right now thats gonna SAVE your wife & mother from CANCER.
This is no joke! I actually came to know about this predicament yesterday in my colleges’ newspaper when I saw the sport headlines of your winning of the 2010 Masters. Congratulations from the bottom of my heart! You beat Woods xD
Anyway, the fire that was rekindled in my soul manifested when I read that ur wife was diagnosed with breast cancer.
I felt so obliged to share this piece of information with you that would actually HELP her live a life worth living. Same goes for your mom.
Im not talking rubbish! Pardon me. So please i seriously urge you to try this miracle molecule from God called TRANSFER FACTORS! It was DISCOVERED in the US and so i feel you may be able to grab a hold of it easily.
I am a boy who care about the well being of others. I care about people & I would do anything to help anyone, be it a place beyond the horizon of mine.
If you don’t take my word for it because im a mere boy then I would recommend that you seek out Dr. Calvin Mccausland. He is what i call one of the TRUE DOCTORS.
Thank you.
It was my pleasure sharing this to a celebrity ^^
I am honoured.
PS, whosoever has the control to accept or reject this message without the conscience of either Phil,Amy,or His mother by any chance REJECTS this invitation to treat is therewith termed in my jurisdiction as an accursed heartless individual in the name of both man & God. Amen.

April 14th, 2010 at 2:52 pm
I have been attempting to get Phil’s family some information from ESPN and other potential contacts. I am sending this because I have not received any confirmation from other people in my attempts to get this information to you, your wife, and your mother.
I would like to send an email message to Phil Mickelson’s Wife & Mom about a cancer cure. Cancer is the easiest thing to cure.
This information is totally free. I pass this information onto anyone who has cancer. The government does not want this information released because this does work. One of our best friends is currently writing a book of these easy to use cancer cures along with many other cures. This will be a free ebook for the public. This person cured her own cancer when Chemo Therapy failed.
There are several ways to cure cancer, but here are 3 sure fire cures for cancer that can be done at home along with any treatment being received from a doctor.
1) Mix two table spoons of Pure Baking soda into a gallon of water and drink one glass a day. Cancer cells cannot live in a high/normal Alkaline solution.
2) Drink Jason Winter’s Tea 2-3 times a day (Order from Internet)
3) Eat a piece of Hedge Apple once a day. Hedge apple attacks the cancer marker.
We have more free cures for cancer but these are easy, inexpensive, does not hurt the body chemistry, and has worked for many people.
Doctors are under strict rules and laws and will lose their license if they attempt to cure people of cancer using these unapproved medical cures. It is not their fault.
Please call me or send an email to let me know that you received this information for your family. I will never bother you again.
Best wishes for your family.
Thank You

I have great respect for the love your family shows since I have been happily married for 34 years now. I wish nothing but the best for your wife and mother in their battle. Phil one question for you have you thought about lasik eye surgery for you to help your game . I think it could help improve your putting
August 27th, 2010 at 10:09 pm
I have been reading and thinking about you and Amy’s challenge that you had to face. For me it was a sad, but a distant event, since our family has been spared the trauma of similar challenges.
Then, two weeks ago, our daughter Mareli, aged 32, was diagnosed with breast cancer. And your challenge became very real to us.
We can only pray that we can have the same strength that you have displayed.

Phil I would be surpirsed if you even read this stuff but I have heard of a natural remedy for some cancer’s I’m sure it’s nuts but you can look it up on google of coarse. It’s baking soda and maple syrup.
Sounds crazy But it’s all crazy. Prayer and thought’s are with you.

Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet effective.
A lot of times it’s hard to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and visual appeal. I must say that you’ve done a great job with this.
Also, the blog loads very quick for me on Opera.
Superb Blog!

Dear Mickelson Family
Its good to share with you the love of God and hoping I find you well. I just got intrest in your family when i read what you went through in 2003 of the Evan story (a miracle mother & child Evan 7 minutes) which was the hand of GOD and then the sad but defeated cancer issue and i learnt with God nothing is impossible. I am in Africa Zimbabwe and hoping to create a hopeful future for the people with cancer in Africa by building a fully equiped Cancer hospital that will help treat people for free for i realised people are passing on because they cannot afford the treatment. If i could possibly propose that your family be partrons of “A FUTURE WITH HOPE FOUNDATION” a United Methodist Church organisation raising funds through golf tournaments for the construction of a cancer hospital and other institutes of hope based on the word Jermiah 29 vs 11. If intrested please just email nmcuslink@yahoo.co.uk

I will pray for you. Cancer is not easy to accept but when we know the God of the Bible, we can find strength to rise above anything. Carolyn

The great thing is that they are ready to go, unlike a full sized
cake, which needs to be cut into all the pieces. When you
want to add fun and whimsy to your Easter celebrations, make sure to be creative with your desserts.
To achieve any degree of success, you have to throw that “hobby”
label out - it’s time to work.
