In fact, I was encouraged because it was a fairly good finish given Phil's Open history. This was his best finish other than the 3rd in 2004 and the T11 in 2000. It's just not his cup of tea. What I would like to see is for Phil's fans to stop expecting him to be Tiger. In fact, I wish Phil would forget about Tiger or being No. 2 and just play for himself. I also think he will definitely be in the top 5 (or better) by year end. The guy DID have 2 wins so far this year. That's better than anyone except for the aforementioned Tiger and Kenny Perry who only played, with the exception of Memorial, against the likes of the Pappas brothers.
